Michael was born on August 10, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is 49 years old. He was raised with excellent care and compassion by his parents. His father's name is Gerard Bivins, and his mother's name is Shirley Bivins. The name of his sister is Tanya Bivins.

Their groups were separated as soon as possible, and Michael Bivins created Bell Biv DeVoe with two other members of New Edition. Bell Biv DeVoe dominated the charts with their Poison album.

The other famous albums were Hootie Mack and BBD. Michael also manages and produces for other acts, notably MC Brains, Boyz II Men, Another Bad Creation, all of which were signed by his Motown label Biv 10 Records. In fact, he also serves as the music entrepreneur and the A&R person of both of his own acts.

He also built his career in the film industry. Michael Bivins was shown on a supporting role in the movie Friday After Next. He also gives his voice to the hit video game Grand Theft Auto

Michael Bivins is currently featured in a basketball film entitled Crossover, portraying the role of the character Heart Attack. Michael also holds the position of CEO and founder of the Sporty Rich Enterprises record label.
