They then worked together to create a hip-hop duo,' Reflection Eternal.' He released many songs with Hi-Tek as the Eternal Reflection. He then joined another rapper, Mos Def, and formed another band, "Black Star." Their album "Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star" (1998) made it to the top.

At that point, Talib kept working with Reflection Endless and released a collection, “Train of thought” in 2000. Later, he also geared up for his solo career.

In 2002, he launched his first solo album, “Quality” followed by “The Beautiful Strange” in 2004.
